Alchem1st's founder and Creative Director, Aisyah Syahdinar, descends from a Javanese family rich in the traditions of fashion design, all Alchem1st products are both designed and produced by Indonesians, therefore when purchasing from us you are helping to support a developing nation. It is in the home industries of Java where the majority of our cottons, silks and leathers are sourced. Gender equality is important to our label; our founder is female and from the directors to the production floor both sexes are treated equally. We always pay a fair price to both our workers and suppliers. We also give pre-production financing to our suppliers. Balances are always paid promptly to our partners, we don't work on credit, all goods are paid for before they leave the workplace. Whenever possible, Alchem1st promotes fair trade values with honest advertising and marketing techniques. We aim for the highest standards in product quality and continue to enjoy good trade relations with all our partners as we grow together.
Ethical issues addressed:
Alchem1st is a fair trade product, everyone comes first. We support local artists who are specialists in their individual fields and help them to maintain the traditional skills that have been handed down to them. We maintain a regular working week in our factory, where the staff are provided with accommodation, insurance and medical care, plus food during working hours. The environment here is one of a big family community, there is no child labour, everyone is paid a fair wage and conditions are clean, safe, healthy and environmentally friendly.
